Scimitar Horned Oryx originates from its primary habitat in the North African countries: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Chad and Egypt. Today, they are also found in the Eastern Cape’s Karoo desert, to which we have the hunting rights. Due to their adaptability from the desert areas, Scimitar Horned Oryx lives primarily in open terrain and can survive the harshest environments. It can go without water for months, where it simply survives on the liquid it absorbs through its food.

As with its cousin the gemsbuck, a scimitar horned oryx female (cow) is slightly smaller in body size than the bull, while the horns are slimmer and usually longer compared to the bull.

Recommended calibers: .270, 7mm, .308, 30-06
